ABOUT

The People Make Me Crazy (PMC) store promotes awareness of how our social environment impacts our mental health. Whether it is from institutional, structural, or systemic causes when you buy products from PMC you become part of the People Make Me Crazy community that help to expand that message. People Make Me Crazy is a reminder to all that our actions have consequences, that they impact others, and that we are collectively responsible for the state of those around us.

PMC is a trendsetting online store, offering first-rate products to shoppers from the comfort of their own home. Our exclusive designs are created through a printing company that also provides drop shipping services. This means that the designs are not put on the product until a purchase has been made, which helps to reduce overproduction and waste. For you, it just means that your order may take slightly longer to get to you compared to stores that sell pre-made designed products. Our hope is that you will find both the shopping experience and the products to be exceptional and will compensate for the slightly longer time it takes to complete your order. Here at PMC, we know that every product counts, and we strive to make the entire shopping experience as rewarding as possible.

Meet Shantell Reed Founder of People Make Me Crazy

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to stop by my store. I founded People Make Me Crazy to help raise awareness of the impact that our social environment has on our overall wellbeing, and to encourage positive social changes.  The People Make Me Crazy logo is a bold and unapologizing response to the harsh conditions our social environment can throw at us. In addition to the store, I am also looking into starting a podcast or a blog. My hope is that they will not only complement each other but will also serve to reinforce the need for more awareness of our social environment.

As you might have guessed, my decision to open this store is more than entrepreneurial. Based on both personal and professional experiences, it is also my desire to help improve people's lives. Like many of the stories I have heard from others, I too have had my share of negative social experiences that have had an impact on my wellbeing. However, these experiences also prompted some positive endeavors, which influenced my desire to seek more understanding of myself and of others. These endeavors consisted of educational and professional pursuits where I would learn more about mental health, human behavior, environmental factors, and more.

Currently I hold a master's degree in clinical social work, and I am certified in California and nationally as an alcohol/drug counselor. My educational background provided me with a strong foundation for understanding environmental factors, psychological processes, and human behavior. The professional work that followed served to enhance that understanding. I have provided therapeutic guidance for both substance abuse issues and other mental health problems to a variety of people, including some of our most vulnerable populations that are often at the mercy of others with more power. The combination of my personal, educational, and professional experiences has led me to conclude that our social environment has more of an impact on our mental health than most are aware of, and it is an endeavor I hope to change through the use of this store.
